The 2025 Golden Globes are underway, and actor and filmmaker Brady Corbet just took home one of the night's bigger trophies.
Brady took home the award for Best Director — Motion Picture for his epic drama The Brutalist, which also features Globes-nominated turns from Adrien Brody, Guy Pearce, and Felicity Jones.
Brady's acceptance speech was loaded with emotion. At one point, the broadcast cut to his daughter Ada, who was sitting in the audience and wiping away tears.

Brady also paid tribute to "three people I lost" while making The Brutalist. He mentioned his grandfather, James, his grandfather's brother, Jerry, and late producer Kevin Turen, who passed away last year.
Brady also briefly mentioned Aubrey Plaza and her late husband, director Jeff Baena. As the Los Angeles Times reported earlier today, Jeff was found dead on Friday at his home. The Los Angeles County coroner's office determined suicide as the cause of death.
"Tonight, my heart is with Aubrey Plaza and Jeff's family," Brady concluded, before saying "Goodnight."
